What Happens When You Call

We start by listening. You tell us about the property, how many units it has and where it stands today: never filed, approved last year, or somewhere in between. We ask about rents and resident income levels, because those decide which units can count toward the exemption.

From there we give you a free eligibility check and a rough picture of the tax savings over several years, weighed against the ongoing cost of recertifying and keeping records. If the numbers hold up, we walk you through the next steps, from FHFC certification to the county DR-504AFH filing, and set a time to meet at our office or by phone or video. If they don't, we say so plainly.

Helpful to Have Ready Before You Call

1. The property address and the most recent tax bill or notice of proposed taxes.
2. A current rent roll showing unit sizes, rents and which units are occupied.
3. Any resident income records you already keep, even if they are incomplete.
4. Copies of past FHFC or county filings, if the property has applied before.
